About Us

Stillwaters Refuge of Hope Inc. is a faith-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization/ministry, founded by Debra Hughes in November 2017. She was given the vision for this ministry in June of 2003 shortly after she began her own journey of recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. God has clarified this vision and equipped Debra as He brings to life what she has carried in her heart for these many years. Debra faithfully sought God for His will and timing for this vision to become a reality. In November 2017 the Lord gave her the ministry name as she was praying and reading her Bible. She was excited that the Lord had named the ministry knowing that the time had finally come to move forward.

Since 2017, Stillwaters Refuge of Hope has expanded its services to meet the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of women in the community. Our participants in recovery have access to safe, stable, faith-based sober living. We also offer support groups, Bible studies, and spiritual mentors that believe in the power and truth of the Gospel; these programs are available to any woman that may benefit from our services. Stillwaters Refuge of Hope can also provide pregnancy support and parenting guidance to current and expecting mothers so they may succeed as a mom and provider.

Today, our organization is growing, and so is our continuum of care. Our end goal is to provide a comprehensive suite of support services, including but not limited to long-term residential programs, residential programs for expecting mothers, and outpatient treatment. As we continue to expand our service options, we will customize care plans that are tailored to the needs of each individual.

If you are interested in contributing to the mission of Stillwaters, there are several ways to get involved. Our ministry is always in need of volunteers that are willing to share their talents, and your special skills may help us fill the needs of the organization. You may also consider a one-time or recurring financial contribution; Stillwaters is able to support women in the community through the generous contributions of our donors and partners.
